ACCEPTING AUDITION SUBMISSIONS NOW- March 31, 2025


Join us this summer for our Family Production of the Tony AWARD-WINNING BROADWAY HIT! Young actors ages 7-18 will take the stage alongside our esteemed Artistic Mentors: Thomas Nguyen, Nikki Liv Basas, and Max O. Chang, who bring decades of experience from the Bay Area theatre community.

Ages 6-18

We warmly welcome and encourage actors from all identities, ethnicities, and abilities to audition.

AUDITIONS:

Video submissions: OPEN NOW through March 31, 2025

Callbacks April 5 and 6; by invitation only.

 

Rehearsals: June 15 - July 17 (Sunday 4:30-8:30pm, Monday-Thursday 5:30-9:30pm) in Newark

Tech Week:  June 20 - June 24 (Sunday 4:30-8:30pm, Monday-Thursday 5:30-9:30pm) at Teves Theatre (27170 Mission Blvd. Hayward, CA 94544)

Performances: Friday July 25 @ 7:30pm, July 26 @ 2pm, and July 27 @ 2pm


Please note your availability and schedule conflicts will affect casting.

 

What to prepare:

Please sing 32 bars (1 verse + chorus/1.5-2 mins) of an up-tempo or ballad song.


Video Submissions:  Please begin by stating your name and what song you are singing. Make sure you are well lit and are in focus, and are in the frame from your waist up (so you aren't cut off and we can see your sweet faces!) Email your video, headshot, resume (if you have one), and audition form with subject line "Annie Audition Submission" to admin@stageonetheatre.org


Our summer Family Production serves as a training program for students. If selected, participants require a $550 tuition fee (sibling discount: $50 off).

Annie: Spunky; Friendly; Young orphan who longs to be reunited with her parents

Miss Aggie Hannigan: Orphanage Matron who hates children; bitter; cold

Tessie:  Second oldest orphan; cry baby

Rooster Hannigan: Aggie's up to no good brother; a conman

Lily St. Regis:  Rooster's girlfriend and sidekick; ditzy

Molly: The youngest orphan

Pepper: The toughest orphan

Duffy: The oldest orphan

July: The quietest orphan

Kate: Second youngest orphan

Bert Healy: Radio Host; helps Annie with her search

Fred McCracken:  Bert Healy's radio co-host

Boylan Sisters (Ronnie, Bonnie, and Connie): A radio-featured singing trio

Harol Ickes: Cabinet Member; pessimistic, worried

Louis Howe:  Cabinet Member; kind, friendly

Cordell Hull: Cabinet Member; concerned

Frances Perkins:  Cabinet Member: authoritative

Justice Louis Brandeis: Wedding Officiant; Supreme Court Justice

Henry Morganthau: Cabinet Member; cautious

Sophie, the Kettle: Head of the Hooverville Townspeople

A Star to Be: Aspiring Broadway Actress

Mrs. Greer: Oliver Warbucks' head housekeeper

Mrs. Pugh: Oliver Warbucks' cook

Cecille:  Oliver Warbucks' lead maid

Drake:  Oliver Warbucks' butler
